Rutledge is director of bariatric services
University Surgical Associates has announced the appointment of Dr. Jack F. Rutledge to serve as medical director of Erlanger’s new bariatric services program.
“Dr. Rutledge is one of the region’s leading bariatric and weight-loss surgeons and his high surgical and ethical standards will serve the program well,” said Dr. Michael S. Greer, managing partner of University Surgical, a general surgery practice.
The bariatric services program offers regional patients a chance to achieve lasting lifestyle changes through a complete program for medical and surgical weight loss management, a news release said.
Dr. Rutledge is a boardcertified general surgeon and clinical assistant professor of surgery, department of surgery, for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He joined University Surgical Associates in 1999.
He earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed an internship in 1986 at Marshall University and a residency in general surgery from East Tennessee State University’s medical school in Johnson City, Tenn.
Dill opens his own dental practice
Dr. Mark Dill has announced the opening of a new dental practice at 6102 Shallowford Road.
His practice focuses on general and cosmetic dentistry, he said.
Dr. Dill graduated from Central High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He received his training in dentistry from UT College of Dentistry in Memphis.
He and his wife, Laura, live in Ooltewah.
Schubert named sales manager
John Schubert has been named sales manager of Thurman Bryant Electric Supply Co.
He will concentrate on industrial and contractor sales.
Mr. Schubert has 35 years of experience, serving as a regional manager for Olin Conductors and as principal for Schubert Sales Agency Inc., a manufacturer’s rep firm for Tennessee.
He and his wife, Jeannie, live in East Brainerd, where she operates Allegiance Mortgage Inc.
Mountain Valley gets new directors
Dr. W. Randolph Allen and Lynn L. Johnson have become directors on the boards of Mountain Valley Bank and Sequatchie County Bancorp Inc., according to Chairman Wendell A. Spicer.
Mountain Valley Bank is based in Dunlap, Tenn., and has a branch in Monteagle, Tenn.
Dr. Allen practices optometry at Sequatchie Valley Eye Care in Jasper, Tenn., as well as part time in Dunlap with Dr. Kenneth Nix. He is a graduate of the Southern College of Optometry.
He is married and has two children.
Mr. Johnson serves as county executive director of the Farm Service Agency for Marion and Sequatchie counties and works in partnership with his uncle in a beef cattle operation.
He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University. He and his wife and daughter live in the Mount Airy community.
Morris,Tabor get firm partnership
Pam Morris and Nathan Tabor have been named partners in the Chattanooga office of Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain PC, an accounting and business consulting firm.
She is a certified public accountant and certified fraud examiner.
Mr. Tabor also is a CPA and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
The Lattimore Black firm has more than 400 employees and includes offices in Nashville and Knoxville as well as in Chattanooga.
Pathway Polymers wins recognition
Pathway Polymers, formerly Hyperlast North America, has said that its Master Works M1 product line was recently named Attendees’ Choice for Most Innovative Product in the decorative category at the 2008 World of Concrete exhibit held in Las Vegas. The company said Master Works is a new material for use in the composites, construction and reproduction industries. “We were very pleased with the amount of booth traffic Master Works generated at this year’s show,” said Doug Van Brunt, Pathway Polymers vice president of commercial development.
Pathway is a chemical manufacturer that employs 49 and is a subsidiary of Britain-based Vita Group. Annual revenues were more than $34 million in 2007.
Vernon passes sleep board exam
Dr. Andrew N. Vernon of Specialists in Pulmonary Care and Sleep Medicine
has passed the sleep medicine board exam and has been recertified as a specialist in sleep medicine.
The American Board of Internal Medicine administered the exam.
Dr. Vernon practices pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine.
