A developer is moving ahead with plans to build hundreds of gated luxury apartments across from Silverdale Detention Center.
Ilya Dyskin wants to build 372 apartments at the 7600 block of Standifer Gap Road, said site engineer Mike Price. Rent would be from $750 to $900 for one- to three-bedroom units at the Calypso Apartments, and amenities would include four lakes, a swimming pool and walking trails.
The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission on Monday approved requests for rezoning the site and allowing a higher density than would be otherwise allowed. Construction could start this summer.
