Red Bank mobile speed van to issue tickets Friday

Motorists who travel through Red Bank should be on the watch for that city’s new mobile speed van. It’s been out for 30 days issuing warnings for speeders, but it will issue $50 tickets beginning Friday, according to a department statement.

The van will be stationed at several different locations throughout the city, with the days and times it will be used varying from week to week, according to the statement. The white Chevy Uplander van has been stationed under the Highway 27 overpass on Signal Mountain Road on several occasions during its 30-day warning period.

School zones will be a high-priority area for the program, according to the news release. The tickets do not add “points” to drivers’ records.

The program is administered by American Traffic Solutions, Inc., with each violation reviewed and approved by the Red Bank Police Department before being issued.

Drivers who receive a violation can log on to www.ViolationInfo.com to get information about how to pay the fine. If a driver does not have Internet access, they may call the Red Bank Police Department, customer service, at (423) 875-0167, ext. 2102.
