Sexton scores 30, but Temple falls in state tournament

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Union City Mr. Basketball finalist M.J. Brown made four free throws in the fianl eight seconds and finished with 19 points to lead the top-ranked Tornadoes to a 59-55 win over Tennessee Temple in the Class A state tournament.

Union City (35-0) scored the game's first 11 points, but the Crusaders rallied and took a short-lived lead early in the fourth quarter. Junior Jeremy Sexton led all scorers with 30 points and nine rebounds for Temple (23-10).
