Radovan Bekovich
Radovan Bekovich, 94, of East Ridge, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008, in a local hospital.
He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and was retired from Standard Iron and Wire Works after 26 years of service. Mr. Bekovich was a veteran of the Yugoslav Army and the English Royal Air Force during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 1491. He was an avid pro wrestling fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Liberatina Coppola Bekovich; and a daughter, Mary Krell.
Survivors include one daughter, Velica Daniel, of Acworth, Ga.; one son, Risto Bekovich, of East Ridge; two granddaughters, Nadia Krell and Rhonda Krell; several nieces and nephews in Serbia and relatives in Canada and Italy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Father Stavros Ballas officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
There will be a trisageon service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Linda L. Ogle Couch, 67, of Hixson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2008, at a local hospital.
Born in Knoxville, she was a graduate of South Hill School. Linda was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church in Knoxville.
Linda attended Signal Mountain Baptist Church, Signal Mountain, Tenn., and was a member of the Bible Study Group that she attended with a special friend, Margaret Brown.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she loved special time spent with her grandsons, Aaron Couch and Tyler Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert E. Sr. and Louise Latham Ogle.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Donald P. Couch; two sons, David L. (Teresa) Couch, of Soddy-Daisy and Kelly Couch, of Hixson; grandsons, Aaron Couch and Tyler Wright; brothers, Willis Bruce Ford Sr., Albert (Evelyn) Ogle Jr., all of Knoxville; sister, Wanda Ogle Cox, of Mosheim, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Ted (Valerie) Smith, of Knoxville; several special nieces, nephews, and aunts.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Sallie Ensley officiating.

Daisy Dossett
Daisy Lucille Dossett, of Chattanooga, departed this early life on Friday, March 14, 2008, in Memorial Hospital.
She was a loyal and faithful member of Union Hill Baptist Church, and was employed with Dupont for nine years, and retired as manager of City View Apartments after 25 years of service.
She is survived by a devoted husband, Richard Dossett Jr.; son, Rodrick Dossett; daughter, Kimberly Dossett; two grandsons, Bradley and Brelyn R. Dossett; four great-grandchildren, Jamichael, Bradley Jr., Courtney and Alexis Dossett; three brothers, James (Patricia) Williams, Thomas (Alice) Williams, and Joseph (Lawanda) Williams; four sisters, Carolyn (Elbert) Hinton, Sally Williams, Bessie Williams, and Edith Rice; two aunts, Mary L. Ramsey and Cathene Mitchell; one uncle, Alvin Elder; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Preston; one goddaughter, Darlene (Travis) Gutherie; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The homegoing service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at Union Hill Baptist Church, 1800 N. Chamberlain Avenue, with Pastor Samuel Jackson and other ministers officiating.
The remains will lie in state at the church Tuesday at 4 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Visitation with the family will be at 6 p.m.
Interment will be Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Jacob Elder
Jacob Kinzie "Jake" Elder, 90, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008.
He was born in Choctaw, Okla. May 31, 1917. At an early age his family moved to Tennessee where he attended Meigs County public schools. He retired from the trucking business and enjoyed working on small engines and anything mechanical. He loved the outdoors, yard work and his garden.
He was a member of Alpine Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas and Tennie Denton Elder; brother, John Elder; sister, Elizabeth Nance; halfbrothers, Arthur, Scott, and Lonnie Elder; halfsister, Mary Ella Neil; and his special granddaughter, Jennifer "Jenny" Elizabeth Elder, who died March 1, 2008.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Luretha Elder; one son, Steven M. (Susan) Elder, of Monroe, N.C.; granddaughters, Vickie Elder, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and Stephanie (Thomas J.) Daley, of Monroe, N.C.; great-granddaughters, Mikaela and Annika Meeker; great-grandson, Daniel Jacob Daley; one brother, Thomas Woodrow Elder, of Dayton, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

Ernest L. Evans, born on Dec. 16, 1933, passed on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at his home.

Alton Ivey Sr.
Alton R. Ivey Sr., 68, of Chattanooga, died Saturday, March 15, 2008.
He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and he was an ordained Baptist minister.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ivey; and parents, Luke and Annie Ivey; three sisters, Dean Patton, Thelma Gray and Edith Lane.
She is survived by two sons, A. Richey Ivey Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Jamestown, N.Y., Rodney Ivey, Chattanooga; one sister, Jane and husband, Donald Moreland; and two brothers, Charlie and wife, Carol Ivey and Jack and wife, Alma Ivey, all of Trenton, Ga.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday in the Ryan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clinton Graham officiating.
Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Henry A. Janow Sr., 86, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at his residence.
A longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, Mr. Janow had worked with Bi-Lo, formerly Red Food Stores, for 44 years. He was also a member of Falling Water Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his three children, Nellie Gravett Janow; wife, Sonya Everett Janow; son, Henry "Butch" Janow; his parents and 14 siblings.
Survivors include daughter, Nelly (Sam) LeMay, of Soddy-Daisy; son, Harold (Dee) Janow, of Falling Water; daughter-in-law, Betty "Mousey" Janow, of Red Bank; brother, Pete Janow, of Spring City; two sisters, Frances Janow, of Dayton and Florence Lee, of Michigan; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Marian Kimes
Marian Stephens Kimes, 93, a former resident of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, March 15, 2008, in Fuquay-Varina, N.C.
Born in Rhea County to the late Mark Easterly and Ethel Alexander Stephens, Mrs. Kimes was raised in Chattanooga and attended Chattanooga High School. She married Paul Markwood Kimes in 1935 and moved to Durham, N.C., where she spent most of her life. She retired from the Office of Housing Management for Duke University.
Mrs. Kimes held memberships with the NSDAR, the Huguenot Colony of Manakintown, Va., the National Huguenot Society and First Families of Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kimes was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Markwood Kimes; four brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Stephens, W.E. "Eric" Stephens, Thomas A. "Tom" Stephens, and Carolyn S. Beyer.
Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Carol S. Beasley, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. and Ms. Donna K. Woods, of Indianland, S.C.; two grandchildren, Mrs. Dawn Wooten, of Grimesland, N.C. and Mr. Edwin Woods, of Waxhaw, N.C.; three great-grandchildren; and a niece, Ms. Carolyn Beyer Marvil, of Chattanooga.
A graveside service and interment will be held in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Dennie Humphries officiating.

Will Tanner
Will T. Tanner, 86, a resident of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008, in Leesburg, Fla.
Mr. Tanner was born on Oct. 4, 1921, in Gadsden, Ala. to the late Will and Emma Tanner. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 1781st Division of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was a Master Mason and a member of the Ooltewah Masonic Lodge. Mr. Tanner held memberships with the Chattanooga Scottish Rite, the Alhambra Shrine, American Legion Post 95, and the Half Century Club. He had also served as past Commodore of the Loret Boat Club and as a past member of the Royal Order of Jester.
Mr. Tanner retired from Wheeland Foundry after 37 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marie Tanner; three children, Ron Tanner, of Ooltewah, Marcella May, of Decatur, Tenn., and Sheila Hoots, of Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Geanette Able, of Gadsden, Ala.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Deborah Webb
Deborah B. Webb, 57, of Harrison, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008, after a brief illness.
She was a school teacher at Rivermont Elementary 1st grade for the last two years and has taught in Bradley and Marion counties. She was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church where she was an interpreter for the deaf at services. She was a teacher of the deaf for TIPS in Chattanooga for many years. She believed in the resurrection and may she rest in peace.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Delbert S. Barth II.

GRAYSVILLE -- Elrie James "Bubba" Lambert, 45, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, in the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
A life long resident of Rhea County, Tenn. and of the Church of God faith.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Marie Lambert.

She was a life long resident of Rhea County, Tenn. and a member of Mount View United Methodist Church.

VONORE -- Margie Moser Swafford, 92, died peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at her home.
Born Dec. 20, 1915, Margie was known for her kindness, warm spirit and quick wit. She was an avid reader always in pursuit of knowledge and deeper understanding. Margie was a member of Corntassel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Preceded in death by husband, Wade Swafford; parents, Rod and Jennie White Moser; sister, Henrietta Moser Raffalovich.
She is survived by son and his close friend, Mike Swafford and Janet Simmons and his children, Matt and Drew; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Terri Swafford and their children, Jacob and Julianne; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Earl Black; niece, Jenny Black; nephews, Pat Raffalovich and Brad (Kim) Black; great-niece and nephews, Amy (Daniel) Black Jones, Adam (Heather) Black, Thomas Black, Ian Raffalovich; close family friend, Yvonne Boone.

LaFAYETTE -- Blanche Wardlaw Brown, 82, died Saturday March 15, 2008.
Mrs. Brown was a member of LaFayette Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Issac and Ollie Works; husbands, William Otis Wardlaw and Ralph H. Brown; brothers, Ralph Works and Ray Works.
Survived by her sisters, Sue Evatt of Summerville, Edith Head, of Chattanooga, Faye (Thomas) Parker, of Chattanooga: brother, Ross (Bridgett) Works, of King Mountain, N.C.; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A native of South Pittsburg, Tenn., she had spent the last 34 years in Rossville.
Mrs. Carden was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Carden; and sons, Robert and Donald Carden.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris (Bill) Vice; sons, Tommy (Hazel) Carden, Scott (Angela) Carden and William Carden Jr., all of Rossville and George (Phillis) Carden, of Newport, Tenn.; sister, Naomi Tripplett; brother and sister-in-law, Lebron and Nadine Carden; nine grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Rev. Marshall Lambert
CHICKAMAUGA -- The Rev. Marshall T. Lambert, 82, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008.
A native of Rising Fawn, Ga., he was an evangelist and minister with the Church of the Nazarene for nearly 60 years. He served as a chaplain with Hutcheson Medical Center in the 1980's. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II stationed on the U.S.S. Herbert as a gunnersmate.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mildred Louise Lambert; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis (Andrea) Lambert, PhD of Cary, N.C., Terry (Mikie) Lambert, Acworth, Ga., and Steve (Connie) Lambert, Cherry Log, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; also, Robert Malone and Earl Gray.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. David O'Neal, the Rev. Ronnie Taylor, and the Rev. Jim Holden officiating.
Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

George Plaster
CHICKAMAUGA -- George Franklin "Frank" Plaster, 87, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008, in a local hospital.
He was born in Chickamauga to the late Lewis J. and Mary Hogan Plaster. He was a lifelong resident of Walker County, Ga. and he attended Gordon Lee High School in Chickamauga, Ga.
He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Navy. After returning home from the war, he worked at Yates Bleachery, Crystal Springs Mills, salesman at the former Chevrolet dealership in Chickamauga, self-employed car salesman, owned and operated his own service station and for the past several years sold produce to local restaurants, stores and to individuals out of his truck. He was well known and loved by his customers and friends for his good produce.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magdalene "R.T." Veal Plaster; grandson, Dustin Penney; sisters, Elizabeth Plaster, Virgie Evans; brothers, Clark, Arnold, Jim and Spearman Plaster.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Stella and Teddy Penney, of Soddy-Daisy, Eulene and Leroy Matthews, of Chickamauga, Ga.; grandchildren and their spouses, Kathy and Edwin Walker, Stanley and Kim Matthews; great-grandsons, Dylan and Sam Walker, Reagan Matthews; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Fred Bradford officiating.
Burial will follow in Chickamauga Cemetery.
