Man died from drowning suicide

The body of the man who jumped off the Thrasher Bridge last month died from a drowning suicide, the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office determined today.

Jonathan Smith, 22, was found March 13 by a TVA worker who saw a body floating next to the dam. The medical examiner’s office identified his body using dental records.

Records show Mr. Smith lived in Harrison.
