A head-on collision killed one person about 7:30 a.m. today in the 3000 block of Hickory Valley Road near Highway 58.
Chattanooga Police responded to the scene and found that a Ford Focus and a Nissan Crest minivan had collided, said CPD spokeswoman Lt. Kim Noorgbergen in a news release.
It is the city’s fifth traffic fatality of the year. The other driver was transported to Erlanger hospital.
The cause of the accident is being investigated, and driver identities will be released after family members are notified, Lt. Noorbergen said.
