Drivers in fatal Hickory Valley Road crash identified

Chattanooga Police Department traffic investigators have identified the drivers involved in this morning’s fatal accident at 3000 Hickory Valley Road.

Patsy A. Martin, 61, of Harrison, Tenn., was traveling north on Hickory Valley Road about 7:30 a.m. when her 2007 Ford Focus crossed the center line and struck a 2001 Nissan minivan driven by Sarah Strickland of Chattanooga, department spokeswoman Lt. Kim Noorbergen said in a news release.

Mrs. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene, Lt. Noorbergen said. Ms. Strickland was taken to Erlanger hospital with a fractured ankle but is expected to fully recover, she said.

Police are not charging anyone in the accident, Lt. Noorbergen said.
