Skybus Airlines, which announced last week it’s pulling out of Chattanooga in April, has replaced the chief executive officer who guided the low-cost carrier through its launch and first year.
The airline said Bill Diffenderffer has resigned to resume a book-writing career and will be succeeded by Mike Hodge, the company's chief financial officer.
The discount carrier is based in Columbus, Ohio. Last week, the airline said it was suspending its Chattanooga-Columbus flights April 14 due to high fuel prices.
The airline filled just 42.8 percent of its available seats in February, Chattanooga airport figures show. That’s compared to Allegiant Air passengers filling 86 percent of its seats in the month, according to the airport.
