Business leaders today discussed the importance of Chattanooga embracing the global economy.
“One of the points that was made was that mindset of being a global business center is something that Chattanooga needs to develop not just for a few, but for a wide array of business people and young people coming into our economy,” said Deborah Levine, president of Communication Prose Ink. and organizer of the Global Leadership Class.
“That’s what’s going to make us successful,” she said, “and that we already have international businesses here and investments and partnerships abroad is to our credit.”
Ms. Levine and other community members took part in a “Business Trends and Plans: Local & Global” session.
The panelists included: Sheila Boyington, former president of the India Association of Chattanooga and owner of Thinking Media; Marj Flemming, former president of the Chattanooga chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and owner of several local businesses; and J.Ed. Marston, vice president for marketing and communication at the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce.
