The Chattanooga Downtown Redevelopment Corporation board this afternoon approved an $85,000 forensics study to look at problems at the water-based Passage attraction at the downtown waterfront.
Officials said the feature has cracks and that they are concerned about potential issues dealing with electrical grounding.
“Let’s do it right this time,” said Steve Leach, the city’s administrator of public works.
Officials said they would like to at least use the Passage as a pathway during the Riverbend Festival this June. The feature, which honors Cherokee Indians, currently is closed to the public.
