Bradley County ‘most wanted’ fugitive nabbed

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — A man who has been on the Bradley County “most wanted” list since January was arrested Monday, according to the sheriff’s department.

Deputies responding to an anonymous call arrested Matthew Dyar, 25, at a home on Old Charleston Road, sheriff’s department spokesman Bob Gault said.

According to the arresting officers, Mr. Dyar had told a relative where he was staying. During the conversation, Mr. Dyer allegedly dared the relative to call the sheriff and have his host arrested for harboring a fugitive, Mr. Gault said.

Charges against him date from August 2006, when he is accused of beating up his girlfriend’s mother.

He is charged with making threats, felony vandalism and assault. He also is wanted in Hamilton County for violating probation and aggravated burglary, Mr. Gault said.
