Personalities and Job Changes

Scott named to Life Care post

Judy Scott has been named executive director of Life Care Center of Cleveland.

Before joining the Cleveland, Tenn., Life Care facility, she served as southeast coordinator of foster children for Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, working out of Cleveland.

She is a 20-year veteran of the health care industry and is a licensed nursing home administrator in Tennessee.

She has lived in Cleveland since 1986.

Life Care Center of Cleveland is one of 23 facilities in Tennessee operated by Life Care Centers of America, a national health care company based in Cleveland.

Shell appointed to hotel position

Rick Shell has been promoted to director of food and beverage at The Chattanoogan hotel on Chattanooga’s Southside. He served previously as executive chef at the property.

He will oversee the daily operations of the hotel’s three dining establishments — The Broad Street Grille, The Foundry and Strouds, as well as the hotel’s in-room dining.

He is an 18-year food industry veteran.

Toyota of Cleveland wins 16th award

Toyota of Cleveland, a dealership at 3560 Village North Blvd. SW, has won

Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc.’s President’s Award for outstanding sales and service.

Nelson E. Bowers II is owner of Toyota of Cleveland, whose latest award is the 16th it has won.

“Toyota of Cleveland earned one of Toyota’s highest tributes, the President’s Award, through its outstanding professionalism and commitment to quality,” said Clyde R. Dyson Jr., general manager, TMS, Cincinnati region. “Toyota of Cleveland achieved exemplary standards of performance in sales and service, and most importantly, in satisfying our customers’ needs.”

Magazine salutes Access America

Access America Transport, a Chattanooga-based, third party logistics company, was recently recognized as one of the best employers in Tennessee by Business Tennessee magazine.

“Access America’s employees have made this a special place to work, which has allowed us to continue to attract and retain the best people to meet our customer’s needs,” said Ted Alling, Access America’s president and co-founder.

Foundation makes appointment

Thomas H. McCallie III has become executive director of the Robert L. & Kathrina H. Maclellan Foundation Inc.

Mr. McCallie will continue his duties in the Maclellan Family Foundations but will direct most of his time to this new position. The Robert L. & Kathrina H. Maclellan Foundation is a part of the broader Maclellan Family Foundations.

Mr. McCallie has served the Maclellan family’s philanthropic interests for 26 years.

“I have worked with Tom for many years and we are excited to have him provide leadership as the Robert L. & Kathrina H. Maclellan Foundation Inc. moves into a significant role in greater Chattanooga and regional philanthropy,” said Robert H. “Scott” Maclellan, the foundation’s president.

Kathrina H. Maclellan founded the Robert L. and Kathrina H. Maclellan Foundation Inc. in 1972 shortly after the death of her husband, Robert L. Maclellan, who headed Provident Life & Accident Insurance Co. She continues as chairman of the board. The foundation gives focus to values-based and Christian ministries and charities, a news release said.

Morgan Keegan promotes Pragnell

Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc. has announced its promotion of Robert Pragnell to vice president.

He is a financial adviser in the Chattanooga branch office.

Morgan Keegan is a regional full-service brokerage and investment banking firm based in Memphis. It is the securities brokerage arm of Regions Financial Corp.

CBL adds tenants to new Texas mall

CBL & Associates Properties Inc. is adding more than 20 retailers and restaurants to Pearland Town Center in Houston.

The stores joining the project include Ann Taylor Loft, Coach, Icing, Journey’s, Yankee Candle and Jos. A. Bank. They will join anchors Dillard’s, Macy’s and Barnes & Noble.

Construction is under way with a grand opening scheduled for July 30 at the 1.2 million-square-foot mixed-use development. A 110-room, four-story Courtyard by Marriott hotel will be above the center’s retail shops near Macy’s.

McDade joins Decosimo unit

Joseph Decosimo and Co. PLLC has announced that Brent A. McDade has become managing director of Decosimo Advisory Services, its business valuation, litigation support and transaction advisory practice.

Mr. McDade has 12 years of business valuation experience.

Joseph Decosimo and Co. is a regional accounting and business advisory firm based in Chattanooga.
