Foreclosure filings increase 25 percent
There were 366 foreclosure filings in the Chattanooga metro area in April, a 25.3 percent increase from 292 filings in March, according to RealtyTrac Inc., a company that studies foreclosures and sells its data.
Metro filings were up 107.9 percent from April 2007. The April 2008 filings represent one out of every 611 households in the metro area.
Riverview complex open to tours
The Riverview Grande and The Villas at the Riverview Grande apartment complexes are having an open house Saturday.
The open house will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The apartments are taking reservations for future openings. Refreshments will be served, and a massage therapist will be offering free massages.

Investors to discuss foreclosure bills
The Chattanooga Real Estate Investors Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday.
Topics will include legislation that would tighten options to buy foreclosed properties, as well as assuming mortgage loans.

East Ridge condos open to public
The public is invited to an open house today at the Village at Frawley Lake.
The open house is from 2-4 p.m. The Village at Frawley Lake is an 82-unit condo development, with prices starting at $169,900. The development is at 6811 Frawley Lake Road in East Ridge.

Mortgage activity increases 3 percent
The Mortgage Bankers Association has released its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending May 9. The Market Composite Index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, was 674.4, an increase of 2.9 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from 655.4 one week earlier.
