A Fort Oglethorpe police officer resigned in lieu of termination after police administration became aware that he engaged in “obvious misconduct” while on duty, Chief David Eubanks said.
Officer Keith Robertson, who has worked as an officer in Fort Oglethorpe for about three years, admitted he engaged in sexual intercourse while on duty after a local TV station gave administrators surveillance video from a Walker County business, Chief Eubanks said.
On the video, Mr. Robertson can be seen engaging in activity with a female behind Keith Heating and Air, Chief Eubanks said.
Chief Eubanks said he is not aware of any other misconduct committed by Officer Robertson.
“We’re public servants and people put their trust in us,” he said. “Children look up to us. We have to hold ourselves to a higher standard.”
