
Hubert Shipley,Jim Adams and Patty Skates are leading in the hotly contested race for the three seats on the Soddy-Daisy City Commission.
One of the most important issues facing the city, most candidates agreed, was the need to manage future growth in the fast-developing area by recruiting new business while preserving green spaces and planning for the establishment of a paid fire department.
The 10 candidates fighting for the three open seats on the commission are: Jim Adams (incumbent), Mark Bivens, Margaret Chastain, Randy Dillon, Shane Harmon, Garland Johnson, Basil Marceaux Jr., Mitchell Meeks, Hubert Geno Shipley (incumbent) and Patti Skates (incumbent).
