Hamilton County Commission defers vote on WWTA records

by Matt Wilson

The Hamilton County Commission this morning voted unanimously to wait two weeks before taking action to demand legal bills from the county’s Water and Wastewater Treatment Authority.

Commissioner Curtis Adams asked for the records a few weeks ago. He received records that showed how much the authority had paid attorney John Anderson, but the reasons for those payments were blacked out.

Authority Chairman Henry Hoss came before the commission today to try to work out a way to settle the disagreement over the records. He said he had offered to meet with each commissioner one-on-one.

Some commissioners said that would be a better option than taking the dispute to court or to the state attorney general.
