Chattanooga: Electrical distributor to purchase Tennesco

A Jackson, Miss.-based electrical distribution company has agreed to buy a Chattanooga electrical distributor and manufacturers’ agent.

Stuart C. Irby Co., a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, will buy Tennesco Inc., 799 E. 11th St., effective Dec. 12.

Larry Cox, president of Tennesco, said he will remain involved in the company as Irby’s commercial and industrial operations manager in Chattanooga.

“This will be a great fit for Tennesco, our employees and our customers,” Mr. Cox said.

According to Irby, Tennesco was established in 1985 and has 11 employees that sell electrical products to commercial and industrial customers.
