Chattanooga: Father wanted after child injured in car wreck

Chattanooga police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted on domestic violence warrants.

Attenro Foster is wanted on outstanding warrants for domestic violence and new warrants stemming from injuries to his 8-month-old son, said police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

On Monday, Mr. Foster and the child were involved in an car accident on Talley Road and Mr. Foster fled the scene with his son, police said.

He took his son back to the mother, but failed to inform her that the child was involved in an accident, Sgt. Weary said. After noticing swelling in the baby’s legs, the mother took the child to T.C. Thompson’s Children’s Hospital, where it was discovered that the baby had two broken legs, she said.

Mr. Foster now faces charges of reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to render aid, aggravated child neglect and filing a false report, police said. These charges are in addition to the outstanding domestic assault charge, police said.

Anyone with information on Attenro Foster’s whereabouts is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 698-2525.
