Chattanooga: Sprinkler head activated at Howard Middle School

Chattanooga firefighters were called to Howard Middle School about 8:20 this morning after a sprinkler head was activated in a hallway.

There was no fire and no injuries were reported, said Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman Bruce Garner.

The students in the affected area were moved temporarily to the gym. Firefighters and school maintenance personnel are trying to remove the water on the floor, Mr. Garner said. A fire investigator has been called to the scene to determine why the sprinkler head was activated.

Sprinklers don't just activate. Something has to cause the head to open. Either a kid hit it with something or some how caused it go off. The school needs to ask some serious questions and then hold the idiot responsible for the damage.
