On Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 7 pm, singer/songwriter Tajci (Tai-Chee) will perform “Emmanuel – The Story of Christmas” at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 501 S. Moore Rd., Chattanooga, TN. The event features Tajci on keyboards, backed by electronic instrumentalist Denny Bouchard and cellist Larissa Fedoryka.
Since the spring of 2000, Tajci has shared her emotional programs in over 600 concerts building a nationwide following for the artist who, as a teenager, was a pop music superstar in Communist Central Europe. Known then as Tajci, she abandoned her fame at age 21 and fled to the United State, where she eventually began performing in churches across America.
Musically, Tajci draws from an almost unbelievable range of influences, not just from across the globe, but from across the centuries of Human history.
In “Emmanuel-the Story of Christmas”, Tajci takes her audience on a musical sleigh ride that conjures images that vary form a vast gothic cathedral for a Gregorian chant, to a trip to the local mall where a young woman searches for the true spirit of Christmas among the chores of the busy season.
