Wamp to vote yes on bailout, Davis undecided, Deal still opposed

by Herman Wang

WASHINGTON — Rep. Zach Wamp, R-Tenn., said today he will vote in favor of the Wall Street bailout package when it comes to the House floor on Friday for a vote.

“If some of us don't change our vote, tomorrow's going to be a real ugly day in America, and I don’t want to be a part of that,” Rep. Wamp told Fox News Channel.

Rep. Wamp was one of 228 House members, including Reps. Lincoln Davis, D-Tenn., and Nathan Deal, R-Ga., who defeated the bill on Monday by voting against it. The Senate passed a tweaked version Wednesday night.

Rep. Davis is still undecided whether he will vote for the package, his office said, while a spokesman for Rep. Deal said the congressman at this point remains opposed to the bill.

So.

Wamp has joined up with the "screw the taxpayers" crowd. Just for us. Yeah, right.

Reminds me of the old "Pogo" comic strip line, "We have met the enemy and he is us."

Goodbye Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security.

Hello rich Wall Street, Raines, Barney Frank, et al.

I was wondering if Mr. Wamp had any guts. Now I know. Mr. Wamp is not willing to do what must be done to get America out of this financial hole. He does not understand where America is financially. I called Mr. Wamp before the first vote and asked him to vote against it. I called him on Tuesday this week and once again asked him to vote against this bill. I am very disappointed in him. I have been amazed as I have listened to Mr. Corker, Alexander and Wamp tell us how it is best for everyone in America to continue living on credit-don't save anything just spend all you have and borrow some more. Moreover, this new bill has been laden down with pork. None of these three men have the courage to do what must be done. They should be ashamed of themselves as men. If we do not demand our leaders cut spending, it will be forced upon us in one way or another. America cannot and will not continue on this profligate road to Bankruptcy.
