Vols lead Huskies 13-9 after three quarters

UT quarterback Nick Stephens hooked up with Denarius Moore for a 52-yard touchdown pass, and Daniel Lincoln kicked a 34-yard field goal in the third quarter to give the Vols a 13-9 lead over Northern Illinoios at the end of three quarter in Knoxville.

Mike Salerno made two field goals for Northern Illinois to keep the game close as the final period begins.

This is another poor showing for the vols. Maybe with more practice stephens will inprove and be a good quarterback. Reguardless he is a far better quarterback than comption. still the vols have got to find their way back to greatness and I am sorry but I do beleave that we need a new coach to do that. Maybe Spurrier will come to Tennessee. He would make a great coach for the vols.

If Tennessee would like to remain one of the top college football programs in the United States, they MUST get rid of the liability known as Phillip Fulmer. If people(Vol fans in particular)will remember, the last National Championship that Tennessee won, was won "in-spite" of Fulmer-not "because" of Fulmer. Coach Spurrier would be a "God-send", and UT should have done whatever it took to get him when he left the Washington Redskins.
