Chattanooga: Councilman Page not running for re-election

City Councilman Dan Page said today in a prepared statement that he would not run for re-election in the spring for District 3, which covers most of the Hixson area.

Mr. Page did not give a reason in the statement, but said he wanted to let the public know to give a chance for others to run in the March election. He said he was grateful for his eight years of serving on the City Council.

“I have enjoyed representing the residents of my area and the opportunity to have participated in the transformation of Chattanooga as we have become recognized as one of the greatest cities of the South,” Mr. Page said.

He said he would not run for public office again.
