Two University of Tennessee Vols reserve linemen suspended

University of Tennessee reserve offensive linemen Ramone Johnson and Darius Myers were given two-game suspensions for a “lack of academic effort and violation of team rules,” Volunteers coach Phillip Fulmer said through a Tuesday night release.

The Volunteers travel to 10th-ranked Georgia on Saturday and host Mississippi State the following week.

Johnson, a sophomore from the Chicago area, is the second-team left tackle and on track for a starting position next season.

Myers, a sophomore from Cordova, Tenn., is listed at second-team guard on the depth chart but isn’t in the main rotation.
