Margaret Card

Margaret Culpepper Card, 57, of Chattanooga, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008.

She was a member of the Girls Preparatory School 1969 class and received a degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with honors. Margaret served as Commissioner of Employment Securities for Tennessee Governor Sundquist's Administration from 1995 until 1997. She became the first female Rotary president in Chattanooga having served as President of the Hamilton Place Rotary Club from 1999 until 2000.

Her passion and faith in Jesus Christ was demonstrated throughout her illness. Margaret was a lifelong member of Signal Crest United Methodist Church and currently a member of New City Fellowship Church where she was active in the Women's Bible Study Group.

She was preceded in death by parents, D. Lynn and Marjorie Churchwell; and two brothers.

She is survived by husband, Lewis Card Jr., of Chattanooga; son, Joseph Card, of Chattanooga; stepchildren, Sissy Card Berbue, Lew Card, Nate Card; stepgrandchildren, Logan Wheeland, Max Berbue, Kate Berbue; two nieces, Margie Lynn Woflgang, of Alaska and Kimberly Ann Churchwell, of Wilmington, N.C.; nephew, Jeffrey Lynn Churchwell, of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Gregory Lynn Churchwell, of Chattanooga; sister, Patricia Ann Avis of Newport News, Va., formerly married to Jim Culpepper, of Chattanooga; stepmother, Gladys Churchwell Yarborough, of Hilton Head, S.C.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lewis Card Sr. and Rocelia Card of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Janice Card Henderson, of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Lamar Card, of California; loving friend and caregiver, Margaret Ann Shelton, of Harrison.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at New City Fellowship Church with Pastor Randy Nabors and Pastor Alfred Johnson officiating.

Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hamilton Place Rotary Club and members of the Women's Bible Study Group at New City Fellowship.

The family will receive friends on from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Donna Henry

Donna Lu Henry, 52, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at her home.

She was a member of Tyner Church of Christ.

Her grandparents preceded her in death.

Survivors include her parents, Charles A. Henry Sr., and Mary Lu Henry, of Chattanooga; sisters, Dee Anna Spangler and her husband, David, of Ringgold, Jody Henry, of Harrison; brother, Charles A. "Bud" Henry Jr., of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. EDT in the East Brainerd Chapel with Minister John Cupp officiating.

Burial will follow at 3 p.m. EDT in Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle, Tenn.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

Buddy Ingram Jr.

Clinton "Buddy" Ingram Jr., 77, of Hixson, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008.

He retired from DuPont after 41 1/2 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. He was the son of the late Jack and Pearl Ingram.

Survivors include his wife Berthell Ingram; daughter, Donna (Larry) Hartline of Ringgold; two grandchildren, Nicole Phillips and Josh Hartline; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Hailey.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

George LeBlanc

George Joseph "Dick" LeBlanc, 68, died suddenly Monday morning, Oct. 13, 2008, at his home in Ooltewah.

A native of Old Town, Maine, he has been a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 16 years. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Joanne Baillargeon.

Dick spent 29 years in the Real Estate business as a part owner of a Coldwell Banker Realty office in Bangor, Maine, and served on the board of the James Taylor hospital in Bangor. At the time of his death, he was employed with Economy Honda in Chattanooga.

During his retirement, Dick enjoyed spending time with family, working in his garden and watching his birds on the back deck as he felt he had a responsibility to provide for God's creatures. He was a good man with a great sense of humor who was sustained by a deep faith and love for his family.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Heather; loving daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve Nadeau and their children, Mike and Katie, of Glenburn, Maine; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Pam LeBlanc, of Kennebunkport, Maine; also loving extended family Scott Barbour, Kristin and Brian Cray and Ryan and Jen Barbour and their respective children, Haley and Gabrielle, Keegan and Connor, Sarah and Cameron; lifelong friend and "brother", Leon Baillargeon and wife, Sharon, of Orrington, Maine and daughters, LeAnn, Lisa and Amy; friends, Jim and Ann Nadeau; and sister, Linda Tweedie, of Buxton, Maine who always had a special place in his heart as well as other brothers, sisters and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

A memorial service will be held in Maine at a later date.

Donald Mahoney

Donald R. Mahoney, 60, of Harrison, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at his residence.

He was a member of Bayside Baptist Church and retired from the state of Tennessee Department of Transportation after nearly 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Gene Cooper; father, John Mahoney; mother-in-law, Thelma Guy; sister-in-law, Deborah Guy; and grandmother, Pearlee Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cordie Mahoney, of Harrison; children, Dennis and Angela Mahoney, of Apison, John and Monika Anderson, of Fairbanks, Alaska, Amy and Eric Singletary, of Dallas, Ga.; five granddaughters, Taylor Mahoney, Emily, Katherine and Sara Anderson and Chloe Singletary; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Charles Meyers, of Rossville; father-in-law, Edward Guy; brothers-in-law, John Guy and Michael (Nancy) Guy, of Dayton, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with the Rev. Eric Stitts or the ministerial staff of Bayside Baptist Church.

Ronnie Moore

Ronnie L. Moore, 57, lifetime resident of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends.

Ronnie was born to the late John Ernest Moore and Ruby Middlebrooks Moore. He professed his love for God at an early age and was baptized by Pastor W. Benson Stevens at Orchard Knob Baptist Church. Until he fell ill, he served faithfully in the Sunday School and Brotherhood at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.

Ronnie Moore loved to reminisce about the time he spent playing football at Riverside High School and Tuskegee Institute, but he will be remembered most for his willingness to help his fellow man without regard for the time or effort involved.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sandra Bulloch Moore; son, Derrick; daughter, Tashia; grandchildren, Jayla, Madison and Kameron; mother-in-law, Ruth Bulloch; father-in-law, Ernest H. Bulloch; one sister, Bobby Jean (Anthony) Hunter; three brothers Calvin A. (Wilhelmina) Moore, Johnny A. Moore, Michael A. Moore and a host of loving family and faithful friends.

As Ronnie did, a Trojan fights with endurance and true determination. God saw that his armor was under pressure and battered, so called him to the sideline for rest.

Ronnie L. Moore will be missed!

Edward Padilla

Edward "Eddie" Padilla went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2007 in Chattanooga.

He was born March 20, 1938 in Prescott, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Padilla whom he married Oct. 15, 1987.

He is survived by his sister, Adelina Alvarado, of Arizona.

Committal services will be at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 15, 2008, at Lomenick Cemetery in East Ridge with the Rev. Paul Coffee officiating.

Frances Padilla

Frances "Sissy" Charlyne Coffey Padilla went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2007.

She was born May 14, 1943, in Chattanooga.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Coffey of Ohio. He husband, Eddie followed her in death May 3, 2007.

Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Overturf; and sister, Wanda (Ken) Beckler of Missouri; and her brother, Norman Coffey of Ohio.

Committal services will be at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 15, 2008 at Lomenick Cemetery in East Ridge Tennessee with the Rev. Paul Coffee officiating.

Kathy Patterson

Kathy L. Patterson, 52, of Soddy-Daisy, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Talmidge and Elizabeth Graves and also was preceded in death by a brother, Nelson Graves; and a sister, Deborah Elledge.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Patterson; son, Raymond Foster, Alabama; brother, Tommy Blackwell, Oregon; sister, Linda Gail Harris, Soddy-Daisy; three grandchildren.

Michael Anthony Williams died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, and was born on Oct. 2, 1959, in Chattanooga.

Nancy Williams

Nancy Lee Parnell Williams, 75, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at her home with her children at her side.

She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on Dec. 3, 1932, to her parents, Ralph and Mary Elizabeth Parnell.

Nancy enjoyed painting, writing, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She volunteered her time for Chattanooga Cares and the American Red Cross for the fight against HIV and AIDS.

Her survivors are her three daughters, Elizabeth Williams (Bill Speer), of Phoenix, Sandi Terry and Darion Williams (Scott Meigs), all of Chattanooga. Her grandchildren are Amanda (Cale) Younce, of Conrad, Mont., Aaron Williams, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Era Terry, of Boulder, Colo., and Morgan Meigs, of Chattanooga. Also three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at 6 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 3210 Social Circle, Chattanooga, TN 37415, with the Rev. Greg Smartt officiating. A reception at St. Luke will follow the service.

She was born in Jasper, Tenn., to the late Joseph and Sara Converse Crabtree, and was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Wimberly; son, Richard Wimberly; daughter, Tami Farrior; brothers, David and William Crabtree. Martha was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church of Chattanooga.

Lucille Shackelford

LEWISBURG -- Lucille Virginia Shackelford, 90, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, in NHC Lewisburg Healthcare.

Mrs. Shackelford was a native of Murray, Ga., and daughter of the late Walter and Amanda Mercer Silver.

She was a seamstress and member of the Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Kermit Shackelford; and son, Larry Shackelford, both of Lewisburg; three sisters and one brother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son.

Mrs. Shackelford's body will be cremated and a memorial service will be today, Oct. 15, 2008, at 7 p.m. from Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

LaFAYETTE -- Agnes Lucille Turman Brown, 80, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008.

She was a member of Naomi Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Ramey and Beulah Ramey; husbands, James Aaron Turman, and Marvin "Bunk" Brown; son, Delbert Turman.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Roger Angland; stepdaughter, Audrey Lowrance, of Dalton, stepsons, Wayne Brown, of LaFayette, and Gary Brown, of Mississippi; sister, Ruby Cardin, of LaFayette; brother, Glenn Ramey, Curtis Ramey and Bud Ramey, all of LaFayette; grandchildren, Lacey Black and Corey Angland, both of LaFayette; one great-grandchild, Cayley Belle Blalock, several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Naomi Baptist Church. Service conducted by the Rev. Garland Hullender, the Rev. Charles McElhaney and the Rev. Todd Smith.

Pallbearers are Corey Angland, Roger Angland, Ryan Blalock, Wayne Brown, Chris Lawrance and Jerry Turman.

CHICKAMAUGA -- Martha Lucretia Fowler Harriod, 62, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008.

She was born in Chattanooga on June 11, 1946. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and a member of Fourth Avenue Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Roy Lee Dover; brothers, Roland Lee Dover and William Dennis Fowler.

Survivors include two daughters, Angela Lousie Pratt and Tammy Prince, both of Hixson; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Heather Ellis, of Rossville; two sisters, Donna Lynn Ellis, of Rossville, Theresa Quarles, of Chickamauga; brother, Charles Fowler, of Chattanooga; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held noon Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

The family will receive friends all day today and prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Fletcher Jackson

RINGGOLD -- Fletcher Conrad Jackson, 75, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, surrounded by his loving family.

He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and worked for a local steel fabrication company, Brock and Blevins for 30 years. After that, he helped several small steel fabrication companies grow their businesses. Fletcher was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and chairman for several times. He was a committed, profound witness for Jesus Christ. He taught Sunday School for 45 years and was much loved by his classes.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Betty Jackson; sons, Tim (Beth) Jackson, Woodstock, Ga., David Jackson, Ringgold; daughter, Stacy (Roger) Kennard, Ringgold; brothers, Howard J. Jackson, Alvrado, Texas, and Wayne J. Jackson, Fort Worth, Texas; grandsons, Andrew, Taylor, Davis and Daniel; granddaughters, Katie and Amanda; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Ernest Groce officiating.

Interment in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The body will lie in state at the church from noon-1 p.m. Thursday.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Saints Sunday School Class of Victory Baptist Church.

Keiara Pritchett

LaFAYETTE -- Keiara Ann Pritchett, 6 months, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008.

She was a beautiful baby girl born on April 6, 2008, in Fort Oglethorpe.

She was preceded in death by her cousin, Johnny Devrise.

Survivors include her mother and daddy, Brittney Pritchett and Tommy Morgan; her biological father, Joshua Simpson; grandparents, Angela Lofton, Tammy Gifford, Jessie Simpson and Carl and Cathy Tucker; great-grandparents, Carolyn and Johnny Pritchett, Annie Shropshire, Brenda and Wendell Gifford; great-great-grandparents, George and Lucille Driver, Alma and Wilburn Ellison, Carl and Hazel Conner and Linda Simpson; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, in the funeral home chapel with Pastors Melvin Bridges and Russell Swafford officiating.

Interment will follow in LaFayette City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, all day Thursday and prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

Pamela Hill

BRIDGEPORT -- Pamela Anne Rooks Hill, 30, passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Grandview Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her father, William B. Rooks; grandparents, John and Vallie Meeks, Phillip and Eva Lee Rooks.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Autumn A. Hill, of Bridgeport; daughters, Keelie Lawson, Amber and Destiny McClean; mother, Carol Meeks Rooks, of Bridgeport; brother, William "Billy" Rooks, of South Pittsburg; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Abbott officiating.

Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends for visitation today from 6-8 p.m. CDT at the funeral home.

BRYANT -- Gregory "Greg" Stuart Pyke, 39, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008.

He worked for Chisnall Logging Company in Stevenson, Ala., and was a member of Floral Crest Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherrie Lynn Pyke; and father, Teddie Pyke.

Survivors include his son, Charles Pyke, Newport, Wash.; two stepsons, Steven Daniel McCurdy, Newport, Wash., Ethan Reeves, Bryant; brother, Douglas Pyke, Bryant; mother, Helen Pyke, Ooltewah.

A joint memorial service for Greg and Teddie will be held at 2 p.m. EDT Thursday at Floral Crest Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bryant, Ala. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. EDT at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Pyke Family.

Teddie Pyke

BRANT -- Teddie "Ted" Aldon Pyke, 71, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008.

He was a former elementary school teacher; he worked for the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park and retired from McKee Baking Co.

Ted served in the U.S. Navy; he was a member of the American Legion and was a member of Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Gertrude Pyke; and son, Gregory Pyke.

Survivors include his daughter, Emily Ruth Hernandez, Ooltewah; son, Douglas Pyke, Bryant; sister, Nytta Norton, Bryant; brother, Richard "Dick" Pyke, Wallawalla, Wash.; five grandchildren, Charles Pyke, Nickolai Hernandez, Ronin Hernandez, Judah Hernandez and Isaac Pyke.
