An unidentified law enforcement officer escorts a detainee into Finley Stadium while participating in a criminal roundup this morning. Law enforcement officials participated in the first of a two day multi-agency criminal roundup at Finley Stadium.

Local authorities this morning are rounding up wanted felons, violent criminals and multiple offenders as part of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department’s Operation Crossover II.

The two-day event, which began at 7 a.m. today, targets wanted individuals in various parts of Chattanooga and Hamilton County. More than 30 agencies are assisting in the endeavor, including the Chattanooga Police Department, U.S. Secret Services, U.S. Marshals Service, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and various local sheriff’s and police departments. The command post is located at Finley Stadium.

Some of the most recent roundups include a police department gang initiative in September that took nearly 40 known gang members off the street and the federal roundup in May that resulted in the arrest of Councilman John “Duke” Franklin, as well as 41 others involved in a large-scale cocaine ring.
