Tullahoma: Air Force cancels combat training program sought by Arnold AFB

Air Force officials have canceled plans for a combat training program for new airmen that might have been located in Tullahoma, Tenn.

The Common Battlefield Airmen Training Program, or CBAT, would have trained nearly 14,000 airmen annually. Arnold Air Force Base near Tullahoma was on the short list of three candidates for the program.

The Air Force did not respond to requests for comment this morning, but area officials said they regretted the decision and the loss of economic impact if Tullahoma had been chosen.
