Quarterback Jare Gault returned to the practice field Wednesday and shared reps with Tony Pastore as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga prepares to host Cumberland on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, Gault, who sat out Tuesday’s practice after suffering a stinger in the Mocs’ loss to fourth-ranked Oklahoma last Saturday, had an MRI on his right (throwing) shoulder/neck at 10 a.m. That MRI showed no major damage, and Gault was cleared to practice.

Allison said based on where things stood following Wednesday’s practice, Gault would play against the Bulldogs. As for who will start, Gault or Pastore, Allison said that’s a decision he’ll make in the next day or two.
