Chattanooga: Club Phoenix padlocked for back taxes

Club Phoenix was padlocked today after its owner didn’t pay sales and liquor taxes, but it will be open tonight for a performance by rapper Gucci Mane, officials said.

Owner Thomas Kenton is driving this afternoon to the Tennessee Department of Revenue to pay some of the money he owes so that the club at 4251 Bonny Oaks Drive will be open tonight, police said.

The last time Gucci Mane appeared, Chattanooga police were called to the scene to break up fights inside and outside the building.
