Local developer wins green award
Christian S. Rushing, a principal with Kennedy, Coulter, Rushing and Watson, has won an environmental design award.
On Sept. 18, Mr. Rushing’s Madison Street development in the Southside won the Green Development of the Year award from the Tennessee Chapter of the American Planning Association. Mr. Rushing is nearly finished building three homes in the Madison Street development in the Jefferson Heights community. The six-house development is one of the city’s first LEED-certified residential projects, Mr. Rushing said.
Women’s Council, Builders to meet
The Women’s Council of Realtors and the Home Builders Association of Southern Tennessee will hold a joint meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting will be at the Home Builders office at 3221 Harrison Pike. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $12. RSVP to Sarah Stiner at sarah.stiner@suntrust.com.
Smarthomes wins group recognition
Smarthomes Chattanooga was recently recognized by the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association for Smarthomes’ design and installation of residential electronic systems.
Smarthomes Chattanooga won the Integrated Home Level I Silver Technical Design award. The winning entry was for a local Chattanooga residence.
“Winning in such a competitive category is confirmation to me and my staff that we are designing and installing world-class systems for our clients,” said Steve Nicola, Smarthomes Chattanooga’s owner.
The awards are considered among the most prestigious in the $6 billion industry, according to a statement.
Crye-Leike expands office on Signal
Crye-Leike Realtors on Thursday celebrated the grand opening of the company’s expanded Signal Mountain office.
Crye-Leike added 1,800 square feet of space next to its existing office in the Signal Plaza at 1210 Taft Highway. The space was vacated by another tenant. Crye-Leike renovated the new office space and created a conference room, client consultation room, computer lab and agent offices. The office now has room to grow from its current 20-agent staff to 34 agents.
