A man was killed in a wreck late Saturday night in Athens, Tenn., when his pickup truck struck a utility pole, police said.
Officers said Danny E. Ratcliff, 63, was found dead on the scene after his green Chevy pickup left the road near the intersection of New Englewood Road and Old Englewood Road in Athens. The crash occured about midnight Sunday, according to police.
No other vehicles were involved. It was not known whether alcohol was a factor in the crash, police said.
