Deputies have not released the name of the victim, the suspect or any other details. Ms. Atkinson said no other details will be made available because of the “sensitive nature of this case and the age of the suspect.”
She said the victim was taken Thursday to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital, where she died. The body was examined at the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s office, where signs of trauma were apparent. Deputies immediately pursued the case as a homicide investigation, police statements indicate.
