Alice Lucille Cole, 89, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Rossville.

Brenda J. Brundidge Darwin, 63, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009, at a local hospital.

Charles Foster

Charles Bernard Foster, 78, of Harrison, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009.

Survivors include sons, Ricky (Lecia) and William (Linda); daughter, Elizabeth Foster; sister, Anna Jo Couch; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South, Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, and the Rev. Don Bryson officiated.

Ina Hall

Ina Hembree Hall, 75, of Chattanooga, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 31, 2009.

Born in Hixson, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Irene Thomas Hembree. Ina lived there for 21 years before moving to Red Bank with her husband, Jim, whom she met while on a trip to California. She resided in Red Bank for 48 years before moving to East Brainerd 6 years ago.

Ina was a member of Daytona Heights Baptist Church for 40 years before joining Red Bank Baptist 35 years ago. There Ina was a faithful member serving in many roles, including teaching in children's Sunday School, VBS teacher, member of the decorating, welcoming and fundraising committees. The most treasured of her roles was teaching the Hall Co-Ed Sunday School Class, which she and Jim organized.

In addition to being active in her church, she was also a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

Ina loved volunteering at her children's schools, supporting her husband and gained great joy planning family trips and dinners. She lived a wonderful blessed life, loving her church and her family and living each day getting ready to go to Heaven. She left us with a smile on her face and a joy on her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter, Robbin (Todd) Faulk; son, Tom (Machelle); four adoring grandchildren, Anna and Abby Hall and Alex and Andy Faulk; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene (Carol), Fred (Joan) and Claude (Mary Lou) Hall; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Red Bank Baptist Church with Dr. Adam Dooley, the Rev. Gene Hall and Kit Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ron Durby, Jim Williams, Tom Cook, Fred Hall, Gary Turner and Wayne Abercrombie.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hall Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Red Bank Baptist Church.

Alonzo Heyward

Alonzo Arness Heyward departed his earthly vessel on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at his home. He was saved earlier in his life.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Tamerikle Penn; and his grandparents.

Survivors include parents, James and Margie Marine; daughter, Aniyah Heyward; sons, Alonzo Jr. and Alijah Heyward; brothers, James Heyward and Durville Marine; sisters, Suprema Marine (Florida), Diane Richardson, North Carolina, Sulena Marine, South Carolina, and Natasha (William) Bell; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Aug. 4 2009, at Greater Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Willie Jefferson officiating.

Interment: Forest Hills Cemetery.

Harold Ingle

J. Harold Ingle, 82, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009, after a lingering illness.

He was the son of Merle R. and Irene Ayers Ingle who preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 S. Moore Road with the Rev. James Hart officiating.

Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include nephews, Andy Ingle, Ken Harrison, Tom Adams, Ty Krug, Michael Callahan and Phil Shirley.

Jenny Payne

Virginia "Jenny" Payne, 67, of Chattanooga, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at her home.

A native of Benton, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Birch and Dorothy Helton Cheek.

Survivors include her son, Charles Dickerson; two sisters, Peggy Hughes and Bobbie Murray; and brother, Paul Cross.

Betty Miles Stephens, 82, of Red Bank, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2009.

Dorothy Wright

Dorothy Elaine Howard Wright, of Signal Mountain, departed this life Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009.

She is now with her Lord, Savior and Friend, Jesus Christ.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Joel; his parents, Thomas and Bessie Tucker Wright; a son, Jody; a granddaughter, Chrisie Goins; Dorothy's parents, John and Louise Goss Howard; and siblings, Pauline, Alvie, Harold, Mrs. Bertie Lee Beavers, Mrs. Gertrude Strother and Mrs. Ann Bush.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter and a son, Lynda and Philip Wright, of Signal Mountain; granddaughters, Sandy, of Santa Fe, N.M., and Amy and their father, Landon Goins, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Lola Robinson, of East Ridge; and a brother, Donald (Virginia) Howard, of East Brainerd.

The family gratefully acknowledges the members of Kosmos Woman's Club, friends lifelong and new, National Healthcare of Dunlap and Hospice of Chattanooga for kindness and support, beyond measure.

Memorial contributions to Chattanooga Community Kitchen and Chattanooga Area Food Bank would be helpful to many less fortunate.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Dorothy left us all a gift of her choosing from scripture, prefaced in her words -- "Peace is a choice" -- "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You." Isaiah 26:13 and post–scripted "This is very comforting and true."

Edna Blake

MURFREESBORO -- Edna Blake, 84, formerly of East Ridge, died Friday, July 31, 2009.

Services are at 2 p.m. today in the chapel with the Rev. Jim Powers officiating.

Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Albert Clark

DAYTON -- Albert Junior Clark, 63, died Saturday morning, Aug. 1, 2009, at Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga.

Albert was born in Graysville, Tenn., and lived in Rhea County for many years. He was an accomplished auto mechanic and auto body repairman and enjoyed dominos, fishing and his dogs.

Albert is survived by his son, Carter (Eva) Clark; two daughters, Patricia Farris and Amber (Wesley) Smith, all of Spring City, Tenn.; his father, Albert Wells, of Dayton; brother, Jerry Wells, of South Dakota; three sisters, Patricia Smith, of Michigan, Carolyn (Jack) McGee and Linda (Levi) Carter, both of California; former wife, Nancy (Porter) Clark, of Evensville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Imogene Patton Wells.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held at 4 p.m. today with the Rev. Mart Goins officiating.

Burial will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens.

Patricia Crum

DUNLAP -- Patricia Louise Crum, 66, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009.

She was born in Queens, N.Y., and lived on Long Island, N.Y., until 1982 when Buster, Patricia and children moved to Dunlap.

She was preceded in death by infant sister, Constance, and parents Patrick and Wanda Vacchio.

Survivors include husband of 40 years, Buster; four daughters, Kathleen (James) Minton, Regina Crum and Jacqlyn Crum, all of Dunlap, and Maria Lindamann, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; one son, Steven Crum, Dunlap; three grandchildren, Patrick Todaro, Brianna Minton, Mary-Dawn Cum, all of Dunlap; two stepgrandchildren, Brad and Bethany Minton, Dunlap; one brother, Richard (Carol) Vacchio, Peachtree City, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Fathers Mike Creason and Mark Schotz officiating.

Burial to follow in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens.

She had worked as a CNA at Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Fleeta Parker Graham; brother, Benny Graham; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Davenport; sons, Jimmie E. (Teresa) Rector, New Hope, Jess P. (Sherry) Cotton, Jasper, and Lester "Travis" Lewis, Jasper; daughter, Gleeta Mai Lewis, Jasper; stepchildren, Troy (Vera) Davenport, Alice (David) Brothers, both of Douglasville, Ga., and Elva Charlott, Sicily; brothers, Steven C. Graham, Whitwell, and Ricky L. Graham, Jasper; sisters, Nancy I. Scott, Manchester, Tenn., and Judith "Judy" E. Warren, South Pittsburg; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. CDT Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, with Brothers Ronnie Case, Levon Powell and Gary Davenport officiating.

Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Robert Wilson Clark, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 1, at Marietta Health & Rehab.

William Gilbreath

LaFAYETTE -- William Cooper Gilbreath, 87, passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at his residence.

A lifelong resident of the LaFayette area, he was a former employee of E.T. Barwick. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served during World War II, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Robinson Gilbreath; brothers, J.B. and Robert Douglas Gilbreath; and sister, Viola Gilbreath.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Stoker Gilbreath, of LaFayette; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Carolyn Gilbreath, of LaFayette; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Clint Durham, of LaFayette; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Lowell Cantrell and the Rev. David Pettyjohn officiating.

Interment will follow at Shaw Cemetery.

Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Dale Selvidge; daughter, Gilda Clausen; grandchildren, Sherick Selvidge, Cory Clausen, Micah Clausen and Nicole Tapp; several great-grandchildren; brother, Ernie Debord, of Sevierville, Tenn.; and sisters, Mildred Grelson, of St. Cloud, Minn., and Joyce Brewer, of Knoxville.

Harold Stapp

RINGGOLD -- Harold Jackson Stapp, 74, passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, in a local health care facility.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Jessie Stapp, and several brothers and one sister.

Survived by his wife, Laura Manning Stapp; brothers-in-law, Gene Manning, Denny (Shirley) Manning, of East Ridge, and Dewey (Paulette) Manning, of Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held.
