Two promoted, 1 retires at EMJ
EMJ has announced that Doug Martin and Clint Dean have been promoted and that Ron Jobe, head of its Chattanooga office, plans to retire at the end of this year.
The contractor said Mr. Martin was recently named senior vice president of the Chattanooga office and will assume the head of office position through a planned transition to be completed by year-end. He joined EMJ in 1993.
Mr. Dean was promoted to vice president from director of construction operations. He joined the company 10 years ago and has provided management oversight of such projects as the Hunter Museum expansion and the Museum Bluffs Condominiums. He will assume responsibility for construction operations.
Mr. Jobe has also been executive vice president with the firm.
Access America receives recognition
Access America Transport, a Chattanooga-based leading third-party logistics company, has been recognized as one of SupplyChainBrain's 100 Great Supply Chain Partners for 2009.
Access America was chosen from more than 2,700 nominations. The recognition came about after "a six-month online poll in which supply chain professionals are asked to nominate vendors and service providers whose solutions have made a significant impact on their company's efficiency, customer service, and overall supply chain performance," a news release said.
Access America will appear in the upcoming issue of SupplyChainBrain, the release said.
"We work to differentiate ourselves from our competition," said Access America Vice President Chad Eichelberger. "Our customers are continually looking for ways to improve their supply chain efficiency. We have invested heavily in our technology infrastructure and focus on delivering value-added service to every customer."
Sedgwick named bank credit officer
Bradley S. Sedgwick has been promoted to a credit officer with Gateway Bank and Trust, according to President and CEO Robert G. Peck.
Mr. Sedgwick has been with the bank for more than two years in credit administration and management. He is a graduate of Lee University.
He and his wife, Cameron, live in Chattanooga.
Alliance Healthcare plans relocation
Alliance Healthcare Services Inc. has announced it plans to move from its current location at 1206 Dodds Ave. to 600 Holtzclaw Ave. early next month. Its new facility is 3,022 square feet in size.
Broad Street Partners LLC represented Alliance. The landlord, Engstrom Services Inc., was represented by The Raines Group.
Alliance provides podiatry services from offices in downtown Chattanooga and the Hamilton Place area.
Fabulous Finishes opens new showroom
Fabulous Finishes owner Rhonda Wilkins has announced the opening celebration of her business' new studio on Georgetown Road in Cleveland, Tenn.
The decorative painting showroom and studio will be open to the public on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"We have created this showroom to inspire homeowners to transform existing rooms using creative paint treatments," said Ms.Wilkins said. "In this economy it makes sense to use decorative painting to give new life to dated cabinets or furniture or give the illusion of architectural elements to a room that doesn't have any."
A news release said Fabulous Finishes has been serving the Cleveland and Chattanooga areas since 2000, by taking commissions from local homeowners and businesses to transform spaces with custom art and paint finishes.
"We invite the public to drop in during our open house weekend to see and be inspired by all the different finishes and projects we have displayed," Ms. Wilkins said.
Dr. Lowry named medical director
Dr. David M. Lowry has been named medical director of the Spine Surgery Center at 1736 Gunbarrel Road, according to Spine Surgery Associates, regional spinal surgery practice.
"With the appointment of Dr. Lowry as medical director of this very important and worthwhile program, we believe the Spine Care Center is being led by an exceptionally skilled and qualified physician," said Dr. Paul Broadstone, founder of Spine Surgery Associates. "Dr. Lowry is one of the region's leading physical rehabilitation physicians and his high ethical standards will serve the center program well."
Dr. Lowry has training and experience in rehabilitation of spine cases and has for the last eight years been a partner at the Erlanger office of Spine Surgery Associates.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a graduate of Ohio University and earned his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His internship was completed at Horizon Hospital in Farrell, Pa. He completed his residency with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Siskin Hospital's department of physical medicine and rehabilitation in 2001.
Jeffrey Turner earns certification
Jeffrey M. Turner, a financial services professional with Tennessee Sinks-Bach agency in Brentwood, Tenn., has received the special care planner certificate from The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
He will be able to assist "people with disabilities and other special needs and their families with life care planning and other financial needs," a news release said.
The agency with which Mr. Turner is associated is a general agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co.
Mr. Turner has been associated with MassMutual since 2003 and is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner, Chartered Financial Consultant and a Certified Life Underwriter.
He graduated with highest honors from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
He and his wife, Tricia, and their two children, Cece and Will, live in Hixson.
Dr. Clark buys Brainerd building
Dr. Robert Clark has bought the building at 5610 Brainerd Road from an affiliate of Restaurant Retail Properties of Nashville.
Robert Berghel, principal broker for Broad Street Partners LLC, announced the sale. His firm represented Restaurant Retail Properties.
Perry named to Skyridge position
Wanda Perry has become service line administrator and assistant chief nursing officer at SkyRidge Medical Center in Cleveland, Tenn.
"We are very fortunate to have Wanda Perry join our team as she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that is instrumental for service line development, said Chief Operating Officer Bernadette DePrez. "She will work closely with physicians, staff and community members on the expansion of existing services and the identification of new services."
Ms. Perry previously served at Erlanger Health Systems as administrator of cardiac and medical services. She is the current president of the Tennessee Organization of Nurse Executives and American College of Cardiovascular Administrators.
She received her B.S. in nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and earned her master's in health services administration at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill.
She is married to Bob Perry and has two sons and a grandson.
