Theresa Parker’s mother testifies daughter’s husband threatened her life

by Chloé Morrison

Theresa Parker’s mother, Claire Careathers, gave tearful testimony this morning about a threat she said Sam Parker made on her life.

Mr. Parker is charged with killing his estranged wife Theresa in March 2007. He is on trial in Walker County Superior Court in LaFayette, Ga.

Mrs. Parker’s friend Rebecca Brown also came near tears testifying and recalling arguments between the Parkers.

Also this morning, the prosecution played calls from Mr. Parker to Mrs. Brown at the 911 center, where she works.

Mr. Parker talked about his feelings about the divorce in the calls, which were made the day before his wife disappeared.
