U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., meets with the Times Free Press editorial board

U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., said this morning he thinks President Barack Obama’s decision to nominate Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to a second term was a good move.

“(Mr. Bernanke) has earned the right to see this through,” Sen. Corker said at a meeting with the Times Free Press editorial board.

Sen. Corker said he does not believe Mr. Bernanke “has a political cell in his body.”

“The greatest way to destroy the independence of the fed is to put in somebody that’s politically motivated,” Sen. Corker said.

Sen Corker said Mr. Bernanke is “trying to focus on what ought to be done for the good of the country.”

Mr. Bernanke has done such a good job so far! Perhaps the senator can get Bernie Madoff and George Rivas to become his associates. After all, they did a good job too!

Well, it didn't take long for Mr. Corker to learn to "play the game" did it?
