The repair could be finished in less than two weeks, said Jennifer Flynn, TDOT’s region spokeswoman. The contractor, Wright Brothers of Charleston, Tenn., plans to do most of the work while motorists continue to use the northbound lane of the highway, she said.
Contractors plan to close the road once for three days this weekend, Ms. Flynn said.
“They are going to be working 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” she said. “They will start work in earnest Friday at 10 p.m. and will have the road completely closed until 6 a.m. Monday.”
