A Nashville movie and music production company has announced script development on a local divorce case.
Local businessman John Lewis and William Fain, head of William Fain Productions, have teamed up to write a movie script dramatizing Mr. Lewis’ divorce experience.
“We usually don’t get involved in a case unless it is in Family Court,” said Mr. William “Wilky” Fain, “but this case has so many twists and turns that it will make a very interesting script.”
The script will be dramatized and parts fictionalized for a possible made-for-TV movie, hopefully to be filmed in Bradley County, Mr. Fain said.
MAKING MOVIES
* William Fain Productions is a film, music and marketing company based in Nashville.
* “A Father’s Rights” was released by the company in 2008
* “The Wombats” “Amateurs” and “Thorne the Regulator” are other films in production by the company
Mr. Fain released his first movie, “A Father’s Rights,” about his own experience fighting for custody rights for his daughter, Addison Blair Fain.
The film, released in 2008, depicts an unwed father and his child’s struggle with the legal system, according to Internet Movie Database Web site. Mr. Fain said the movie has been shown in 17 countries.
Mr. Lewis’ 2 1/2-year-divorce proceedings have now lasted longer than his 22-month marriage to Michelle Forgey-Lewis.
She could not be reached for comment.
The 73-year-old owner of Lewisco Auction & Realty Co. said that, even though his case is currently being appealed, the movie might bring to light problems that he sees in the family court system, Mr. Lewis said. That is worth any potential negative attention.
Mr. Fain said it will take about 90 days to finish the script and then “shop it around” through an agent for sale.
