Voices of Lee from Lee University advanced Tuesday night into tonight’s semifinal round of “The Sing-Off” after impressing judges with their arrangements of Alicia Keys’ “No One” and George Michael’s “Freedom 90.”
The new NBC reality TV show, which airs at 8 p.m., is a search to find the best a cappella group in the country. According to an NBC news release, almost 1,000 groups auditioned at sites across the country before eight contestants were selected.
Three groups have already been sent packing by the show’s judges during the first two nights of competition. Two more groups will be dismissed by judges tonight.
At the conclusion of tonight’s show, phone lines/text numbers will be announced for viewers to vote for their favorite among the three remaining groups. Viewers only vote tonight.
“The Sing-Off” winner will be announced in a live finale Monday, Dec. 21, at 8 p.m. The winner receives $100,000 and an Epic recording contract.
