Alabama: Deer breaks into county office, survives

CLANTON, Ala. — Workers at the Chilton County Extension Office were faced with a tough question: What do you do when a deer comes to visit?

A buck crashed through a window at the county office in Clanton on Monday. He wound up in the kitchen and tried to get out by ramming a glass door but couldn't break it.

The deer became trapped in another room. An animal control officer was able to shoot it with a tranquilizer gun, and the buck was tied up, carried outside and released later in the day.

Officials say the animal should be fine. No people were hurt, either: The office was closed for the holidays.
