'Hard diligence' leads to arrest in slayings

by Jacqueline Koch

Information obtained by Chattanooga homicide investigators Monday night led to an arrest Tuesday in connection with a double homicide.

"It was good, hard diligence," said Lt. Tim Carroll, head of the Chattanooga Police Department's major crimes division. "I'm really proud of those guys for sticking in there and hanging with it."

Ivan Davis, 22, was arrested without incident and booked on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Aric Moses and Jackie Wilson, police department spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said.

The couple, who lived in Atlanta, were found dead inside a vehicle at 3400 Vinewood St. on Friday.

Police found Mr. Davis leaving a residence at 1702 Olive St. on Tuesday, she said.

Police received information early on about a nickname of a potential suspect. After interviewing several people with similar nicknames and eliminating them, police got a break from someone who witnessed the slayings, Lt. Carroll said.

Lt. Carroll said he didn't know whether a connection existed between Mr. Davis and the couple.

The deaths were the 17th and 18th homicides of the year in Chattanooga, records show.

Now Dave, the CPD used connections to be sure the victims were determined by autopsy that they were ready to die physically anyway so the good ol boy thugs couldn't be found libel. You know the cops are never going to be found guilty of anything and it's only going to get worse for the victim, not better.

You two need to really check your facts

The "officer" at Erlanger was not a County or City Police Officer. He was a member of Erlanger's PRIVATE police force.

Seriously, this whole COnspiracy theory to cover up a Private employee has to stop. The Government has no reason to cover up for him, so why would they?
