At least two New Year's Eve concerts Thursday will have a gospel flair.
* The Ken Hicks and the Gospel Road New Year's Eve Gospel Music Spectacular is scheduled 8 p.m. to midnight at the Walker County Civic Center, 10052 Highway 27, in Rock Spring, Ga. Doors open at 7 p.m.
The evening will feature Danny Funderburk, former tenor for the Cathedral Quartet, Singing Americans and Perfect Heart; Testimony Quartet, featuring Ken Hicks of US101's "Gospel Road"; the Sonlife Quartet; and Randall Franks, who played Officer Randy Goode on TV's "In the Heat of the Night."
Tickets are $12 and are available at Walker County Civic Center; SonShine Christian Books in Fort Oglethorpe, 706-861-7675. Special prices for groups of 20 by calling in advance.

* The annual singing at Oakwood Community Church, 3927 Webb Road will feature Calvin Newton, a former Gaither Homecoming artist, along with J.R. Worley, emcee Dana Russell and several others.
