Delta Queen to arrive Wednesday in Chattanooga

The Delta Queen has decided to take a rest tonight, which means the old girl will arrive in Chattanooga later than expected.

The riverboat will spend the night at Nickajack Lake and will paddlewheel into Chattanooga about 1 p.m. Wednesday. Before arriving at the Riverfront, it will stop at Suck Creek about 9 a.m.

The 83-year-old boat left its winter home in New Orleans on Feb. 5 and has spent the past five days chugging up the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway and the Tennessee River in Alabama and Tennessee.

Once permanently anchored in Chattanooga, it will be turned into a hotel.
