Fabulous and 40? Meet new friends

Are you a woman over 40 looking for a way to connect with other women your age?

Fabulously 40, a national organization with a local chapter, will be holding a get-together Saturday at Tony’s Pasta in the Bluff View Art District at 11:30 a.m.

Lucinda Wormsbaker, of Kingsport, Tenn., is helping plan the event and calls the organization “a networking site for women in their 40s and beyond that gives them an opportunity to share anything about their lives, make new friends and business acquaintances.”

Ms. Wormsbaker said there are 25 chapter members. Though she’s developed online friendships with other members, this will be her first time to meet them, she said, and she’s hoping others will join the group.

While meeting and enjoying lunch, participants will make plans for a weekend trip to Atlanta, where Fabulously 40 members will enjoy time to themselves for “shopping, eating, enjoying a few cocktails and just having a good time,” Ms. Wormsbaker added.

There is no cost for joining Fabulously 40, and no cost to attend the luncheon, though you will have to pay for your own lunch.
