Blog:Nance’s diary from All-American football combine

Calhoun (Ga.) High School’s Nash Nance is participating in the U.S. Army All-American football combine in San Antonio through Saturday. The junior quarterback prospect is filing a daily diary for www.timesfreepress.com.

Thursday, Jan. 1:

“I registered today for the combine, and it is very humbling to be around 600 of the best athletes in the country! Just to register took over one hour. They gave us tons of gear. Sweatshirts, T-shirts, cleats, carry bags, etc.

“I interviewed with a Rivals.com representative and he already knew me, which was good. After registration we did bench-press competition, where I did 19 repititions of 185 pounds and that was tops for all quarterbacks.

“I am so excited to compete in tomorrow’s skill tests. We start at 6 a.m. and go until 6 p.m. The first day was a great experience and I’m inspired for tomorrow!”
