KNOXVILLE — Tennessee sophomore forward Vicki Baugh suffered a lateral knee sprain in practice on Jan. 1, said Jenny Moshak, UT associate athletics director for sports medicine, in a press release Sunday.
The injury was re-examined Sunday by UT team orthopedist Dr. Greg Mathien, who confirmed the injury in Baugh's left knee.
Moshak said Baugh will continue rehabilitation and is listed as day to day.
Baugh went down in practice on New Year's Day at Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, N.J., while the team was prepping for its game against Rutgers on Jan. 3. Baugh was held out of the game, which the Lady Vols won 55-51.
Baugh, who is averaging 7.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee in last season's national championship game against Stanford.
The Lady Vols open Southeastern Conference play against Kentucky on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Thompson-Boling Arena.
