Power outages being restored around Chattanooga

EPB crews are out in force across North Georgia and Southeast Tennessee today to restore power outages from last night’s wind and rain.

A large tree hit a large transmission line off Gadd Road in Hamilton County around 6 a.m., causing outages for about 2,000 customers between Sale Creek and north Red Bank, said EPB spokeswoman Lacie Newton.

Power to those customers was restored by about 7 a.m., Ms. Newton said, but other smaller limbs have caused scattered outages that are not yet fixed.

About 850 customers were still without power at noon today, she said, but crews are already out working to repair those as soon as possible.
