McMinn Central girls move to No. 4 in Class AA poll

Unbeaten McMinn Central paced the area teams in the Tennessee state high school basketball polls.

The McMinn Central girls were ranked No. 4 in the Class AA poll, earning one No. 1 vote after winning 16 consecutive games to start the season.

Here are the boys’ and girls’ state rankings:

Tennessee Boys Basketball Prep Poll

The Associated Press’ Top 10 teams in each of Tennessee’s three Division I non-financial aid classifications and in the combined Division II financial aid classification as selected by Tennessee AP-member sportswriters and broadcasters. With first-place votes in parentheses, records through January 12, total points based on 10 points for a first-place vote through one point for a 10th-place vote:
