Hixson man charged with aggravated statutory rape

A Hixson man is facing a charge of aggravated statutory rape after a 14-year-old girl told authorities she allegedly had sexual relations with the man.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies on Sunday arrested Terry Dewayne Daniels, 41, after the girl’s father told police he caught his daughter sneaking out of the house, according to the affidavit filed in Hamilton County General Sessions Court.

The girl, who is not being identified because she is a juvenile and a victim of rape, told police she had intercourse with the man five times since December, according to the affidavit. The girl’s father found several explicit text messages on her phone, according to the affidavit.

Mr. Daniels already is scheduled to appear in front of criminal court Judge Barry Steelman on Aug. 15 on charges of aggravated burglary, theft of property and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Those charges are in connection with a January burglary in Soddy-Daisy, where Mr. Daniels allegedly served as the lookout driver while two teens stole electronics from a home, according to an affidavit filed in court.
